I found out about 5 months ago that I had a thyroid issue. All the women in my family on my mother's side have it. It was after 40 that they found out too so I knew it was coming at some point and I always made sure to check every time the DR did blood work. I should have known I had it, my body was not cooperating at all. I was carrying some extra weight in my mid section and I was extremely tired all of the time.
Here are a few things that have helped:
- I made a roller with FRANKINCENSE, LEMONGRASS, PEPPERMINT, LAVENDER, and MYYRH in it. I used it as often as I thought about it during the day. At a minimum 2 times, morning and night.
- I started FASTING: the benefits of FASTING for hypothyroidism are improved insulin resistance, reduced inflammation, and weight loss. Which is exactly what I needed and what happened.
- I started Carb Cycling: help prevent weight gain often associated with hypothyroidism.
- I continued to work out, but I matched my low carb days with HIIT, and my reg carb days with strength training. The advantage of HIIT is that it burns more calories in less time. Both improve the cardiovascular system, help control weight, improve mood, boost energy, and promote better sleep. Both types of exercise help manage symptoms of thyroid disease by decreasing fatigue and weight gain. Strong muscles can also reduce your risk of joint pain, another common symptom, and help you lose weight, which can be more difficult for people who have hypothyroidism. What's more, strength training promotes bone health.
- I eat whole foods. Foods from the ground or that have a direct mother. I STAY AWAY FROM PACKAGES as much as possible.
It took 2 weeks to feel a difference, and 4 weeks to notice. I am thrilled to say that I am just over 4 months into this daily routine and I feel amazing, have dropped 10 pounds and about 4 inches everywhere.
Simple daily habits can really change your life.
